New York on Film
3. June 2019
I remember the first time I came to New York City. A 13 year old teenager, arriving in the height of summer, stepping out the metro station, my head pointing upwards. I was so overwhelmed by all the skyscrapers, I hadn’t seen anything like this before. Of course, I had seen big cities before but nothing like the loud buzzling surroundings that were welcoming me back then.
Some time has passed since my last visit, I have grown into an adult (or so they say) and travelled a fair bit by myself and with friends. I have seen many big cities – some more modern and advanced and some more rusty than New York. There are cities that will give me an instant heart ache like when you see a long lost lover again after a long time apart. I have written something similar before when I talked about Hong Kong and it is true for New York, too. With no further ado I introduce my NY diary on film from days in the sun and days in the rain – a week of very mixed weather but lots of joy nevertheless.
