One thing I have really learnt to appreciate in Taiwan is the effortless style of 99% of the population. I haven’t had a single ride on the MRT without wishing to own someones closet because of their perfect sense of styling. In Taipei culottes and wide forms are something as normal as skinny jeans in Germany. But on the other hand even the quirky girls still put their outfits together with so much thought that it never fails to amaze me. So when I was able to wear my culottes for the first time I felt right at home. Always struggling to fit in in Germany and the Netherlands (somehow culottes are still not widely acceptable) I felt like I managed to blend in perfectly in taiwanese streetwear culture.
Today’s look is such a classic that I will probably still be wearing it in 10 years from now. We all know I love a good all black outfit especially if it can master the transition between work and play as easily as this one. Just change the birkenstocks with some more office appropriate shoes such as a smart pair of loafers or mules and you are ready to go. The blouse and it’s wide sleeves add a little highlight to the all black look while still being a classic piece. Add some jewelry in your preferred color and a pair of glasses (or sunglasses) and you are ready for anything the day might bring.
