Sometimes all one really needs is a break. If mentioned break is on Bali – that’s even better. Before flying to this tropical destination I thought it would be much like the Philippines, which I had visited in the previous year. Little did I know that Bali would catch my heart in a second. Our first day there was brutally hot after leaving snowy Berlin. In the evening, we went to the beach for the sunset and from one minute to the next the sky went dark grey and it started pouring down – it was rain season after all. Next thing we know the sun sneaked it way through the clouds and lightened up the sky again. The first of 9 unforgettable sunsets in Bali.
These photos, on the other hand, were taken during one of our last sunsets. We stayed in Uluwatu, which is in the South of Bali, for our last 3 nights and searched for all the magical hidden beaches that the island is famous for. At Suluban beach, which was only a 15 minutes walk from our hotel, we climbed a fair amount of stairs to end at a cave. After closely monitoring other people arriving in the cave we realized there was a beach on the other side of the cave. While, I could try to explain the beauty of this hidden gem I will just let the photos do the explaining.
